Sports in Kos
Written by Anna James | Posted in General Updated 20-May

Sports in KosKos is one of the most beautiful sections of Greece.

The beaches are known worldwide for being absolutely stunning and the breathtaking views are just one of the many reasons that Kos is such a great vacation spot.

Besides looking at the exquisite beaches there are plenty of things to do in the water at Kos. There are a wide variety of water sports that make this area one of the best in the world.

Most people that come to Kos do take in a great deal of swimming. The pristine beaches and beautiful flowing water from the sea really do make this a swimmer's paradise. It is practically impossible to go to Kos and not want to go swimming. (See Sporting Activities in Kos)

Money Saving Tip #6
Use Travelex.com to get the best rates on your currency (better than the Post Office!).
  • If you get tired of swimming than you may want to try one of the other water sports that Kos has to offer. One of the most popular water sports is windsurfing. Windsurfing requires you to get onto a board that is much like a surfboard and navigate your way across the water. You do this by holding on to a sail and positioning in a way that the wind will take you where you want to go. Kefalos is a great place to go to get the basics down pat. They have twenty years of experience.

  • Many people are a little more enthusiastic and like to take the sails out into the deep waters. These adventure seekers will love the plethora of opportunities to sail. The sport of sailing is somewhat complex and there are many things involved with it, but there are opportunities to go out sailing with a crew. If you would like to learn how to sail you can find lessons available. Sailing will not likely come to you overnight but with a little practice you could become quite proficient. • The last major water sport is skiing. If you are already a good water skier than you will love testing your skills in the waters of Kos. If you are just learning how to water ski than you will still enjoy the opportunity to get better. Skiing and sailing can both be done at the resort area of Psalidi. (See Sailing in Kos)
Money Saving Tip #2
Book your hotel through Booking.com and get the lowest rate for your hotel..guaranteed!

There are more sports than this that are available in beautiful Kos. There are a slew of land sports to play as well, but the water sports truly make Kos one of the greatest areas in Greece.
