Places To See in Kos
Written by Anna James | Posted in General Updated 20-May

Places To See in Kos Millions of men and women alike from various countries all over the world dream of going to the beautiful island of Kos in Greece.

Aside from the fact that it is filled with crystal clear beaches with white sands, there are also many other picturesque attractions and spots that you can visit. It is certain that you will not be dismayed or sorry that you went to Kos because there are many exciting and fun things that you can do and places to see.You may contact Nostalgia Travels for great travel experiences.

One of the most famous tourist attractions in the lovely island of Kos is the Tree of Hippocrates, which is said to be the oldest tree that can be found in all of Europe. If you want to see it, it is located just across the Castle of the Knights. According to local legends, it has been said that Hippocrates planted the tree for his students as a form of protection from the sun.

Money Saving Tip #6
Use Travelex.com to get the best rates on your currency (better than the Post Office!).

Another place that you should visit in the island is the town of Kos, one of the oldest towns in Europe. Many tourists and locals alike go here by night because there are plenty of clubs and restaurants that are sure to make you party (more info on Nightlife in Kos) until the wee hours of the morning. During daytime, there are also many historical places that you can visit such as the Defterdar Mosque and the Archaeological Museum just to name a few.

The Asclepeion is also one of the best places that you should visit while you are in Kos. It is the very first tourist spot in the island, and it has been said that it was built during the 4th century BC as an honor to the god of medicine and healing, Asclepius or Asclepios to some. Many locals in that area believe that Asclepion is a place of healing. (See Kos Visitors Guide)

If you want to feel the heat of the sun on your face and the warm sand on your toes, the best beach in Kos that you should visit is the Bubble Beach, which is a couple of minutes drive away from the small town of Kardamaina. There are a lot of things that you can do while in the Bubble Beach such as swimming and different kinds of water sports such as jet ski and paddle boat rentals among others.
